Well, it's been a little while since I've updated, but I get
on the plane on Saturday the 27th. If you're counting, that's
6 days away. Holy smokes!
Last week I went to see Weezer
with my girlfriend Christina, my friend Brie, and Christina's
sister Patience. It was a fun show. Sparta
and Dashboard
Confessional
opened. I was really looking forward to Sparta because apparently
it's the guys from At the Drive In, but I was a little disappointed
because their stage presence wasn't anywhere near as good
as At the Drive In's. They sounded really good though, so
I think I'll pick up their full-length whenever it comes out.
Dashboard
Confessional was basically just what I expected. They
sounded good for a while, but got boring real quick. Weezer
was a lot of fun though. They played stuff from every album,
mostly Pinkerton suprisingly, which worked well since I'm
about to go to Japan and two songs on the album are about
Japan. When they played the song "across the sea"
I started to feel all emotional.
"You are 18 year old girl who lives in small city in
Japan..."
Hey. I'll be that girl! Well not exactly... Hmm.
The coolest part of the show was in the middle of the set
when they lifted the drummer above the stage revealing a huge
flashing W beneith him that shot fire out of the sides to
the beat of the music. It was pretty awesome.
I wrote everything above this line on July 21st, but
never posted it because I realized that everything I wrote
is pretty much uninteresting to anyone but me (I think). So
I'm just going to quit writing this, post it somewhere in
the depths of the web page and from this point out just write
stuff that might be interesting to read (hopefully). So quit
reading this and skip ahead!
